Verdial de Badajoz o Morisca
This variety - very drought-resistant, is spread in the province of Badajoz, Baja Extremadura, occupying 53% of the olive trees of Tierra de Barros. In Portugal it is extended through Alentejo and Algarve.
Verdial variety is used for both direct consuming and for olive oil mill, where they are prized for their high oil yield (around 22%). These oils are medium-high fruity and slightly bitter and spicy taste.
